Assembly Bristol receives highly commended at AJ Architecture Awards 2025

At the 2025 AJ Architecture Awards, presented at a gala dinner event on 27 November, Assembly Bristol received a Highly Commended recognition in the Workplace Project category.

Nominated by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris, the judges said of the development, “Allford Hall Monaghan Morris’s approach to opening up the site to the city through the cluster of buildings has established a new benchmark for regeneration for the city of Bristol.

“Modern methods of construction have contributed to a 26 per cent saving on carbon emissions compared with other new build offices in Bristol, according to the practice. The project has achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A ratings.”

Assembly Bristol has also enabled the re-opening of Cheese Lane, a historic walkway through the site, reconnecting Temple Meads to the city centre for the first time in 50 years, and this will be further improved with the new pedestrian crossing to Temple Way, which has been given the go ahead as part of Bristol City Council’s wider road improvement works to Temple Way.
